Albania Magic

A platform connecting local Albanian businesses, tourists and the diaspora: listings, points of interest, per-user subdomains, five role types and premium subscriptions.

5 role types
Admin, client, local, diaspora, driver
Per-user domains
A subdomain or custom domain per account
Modular content
Products, properties, services, projects
Built to localise
Multilingual architecture from the start

The problem

Albanian businesses are scattered across Facebook pages and phone numbers, while tourists and a large diaspora have no reliable place to find and contact them. Existing directories were thin, unmaintained and mostly untranslated.

What I built

A directory and tourism portal where businesses and individuals publish listings, points of interest appear on a map, and each account can run on its own subdomain or custom domain — effectively a small site per business inside one platform.

Roles and tenancy

Five role types share one codebase: administrators, business clients, locals offering services, diaspora members, and drivers. Each sees a different dashboard and a different subset of the data, enforced at the query level rather than in the interface.

Content architecture

Everything is modular — products, properties, services and projects share a listing spine with type-specific fields, so a new category does not need new tables. Premium subscriptions unlock visibility and extra modules.

Why it matters for client work

This is the project where the multi-tenant, multi-role, multi-language patterns I now reuse for client CRMs and CMSs were worked out in production, on real traffic.
